Choosing A Sisterlocks Consultant……HOW?

Sisterlock Consultants…..WHERE ARE THEY?

With just a click of a button, you can find us via “www.sisterlocks.com”. From Alabama to Wisconsin. Internationally in the Bahamas, U.S. Virgin Island, Jamaica to Kenya. All  “SisterlocksTM Consultants be it “Trainee, Approved or Certified” MUST and SHOULD ALWAYS be available via www.sisterlocks.com website consultant registry. PERIOD!
If wanting anything other than SisterlocksTM or Brotherlocks then choosing “anyone” to install “your” locks is entirely up to you. Now lets address choosing an SLC (Sisterlocks Consultant). 1. Visit the Sisterlocks Official website as suggested above. 2. Find the area of choice (state/city) where you want your Sisters/Brotherlocks consultation/installation 3. Choose a consultant.

Some SLCs via the sisterlocks website have their website attached for your viewing. This way you can get a view of their location, work and for the most part their price list. While most of us acquire information via word of mouth there are other means of finding an SLC. Social media is definitely the new Yellow pages, Google, Yelp, etc. There are many Sisterlocks groups via Facebook. Should you choose to inquire/search for an SLC thru social media ask A LOT OF QUESTIONS! Ask for pictures of their work, timing, how long they’ve been in business and most importantly the price.

Anyone advertising to install Sisterlocks and not registered on the “sisterlocks” website I highly suggest you do more research. Here are a few red flags of Sisterlocks imposters:

“I add extensions to your Sisterlocks”. While this can be done, those of us who have taken the class “KNOW” that ONLY your natural hair is locked. NO extensions.

“I can lock your hair in 3 to 5 hours”. NOT with Sisterlocks. Average time is 10 hours or more.

“I can twist your hair and use a crotchet tool to retighten Sisterlocks…..NO NO AND NO!

Again do your research! Searching for an SLC via the Sisterlocks website is really your best choice. Schedule a consultation with an SLC and have your questions ready…..

  1. Hello, Sis..I’ve been on my own hair journey and I’m ready for SisterLocs I saw Dr Cornwell when I was 20, clearly not ready but loved her and the concept. Now, 40 and all the way ready for my finally hair journey to the most high. I’m interviewing consultants and your profile from East Coast to West has stood out with blog and information….I appreciate the teachings you have provided me.

  2. Very helpful information. Thanks for taking the time to post! Considering these for my second attempt at locking.I choose micro Braidlocks the first time and my hair just never seem to be as full as I wanted. I’m thinking more locks will ensure that its even fuller. Thanks for blogging!

  3. I am so wanting to get my hair locked, I have wanted this for a very long time but finding the right consultant is important for me. I am on a fixed income and no I want sister Locs but I don’t have 800.00 dollars for my med. short hair. I am not interested in interlocks or natural Locs. I found some one else but she is telling me she can do them in five hours. These are certified that I looked up. Help!!
